Brand New Study Starting Tuesday!

You know what just hit me?

2015 is officially half-way over. What.in.the.world.

Remember when you were a teenager and you absolutely lived for school to start, or homecoming or spring break, and it all just seemed to take FOREVER. I remember my junior year of high school hearing one of my friends say, “there’s not enough hours in the day”. I thought she was completely crazy, because I always felt like time moved soooo slow. Or maybe my life was just lame…

Fast forward to adulthood and I now always think there’s never enough hours in the day. Time goes by and life moves on, birthdays, anniversaries come and go. Patterns and habits are formed and life becomes pretty predictable.

And suddenly it’s the middle of 2015 and all those resolutions (what?) have been filed away on some distant to-do list that’s been buried underneath real life.

What were some of those dreams for the new year? Maybe some of the basics, like getting in better shape, doing that project done, saving more money. Maybe though, there’s other things you secretly (honestly) wished for…

  • to stop the guilt you continually feel about your past
  • to be able to forgive that person
  • to believe that God actually loves you
  • to see yourself as worthy
  • to move past your fears about the future

What steals your joy? What weighs down your heart whenever it comes up? What brings you pain, pain that just doesn’t seem to resolve?

What tangles you up?

Starting Tuesday, we’ll begin a new study that will tackle this very question.

unnamed

My dear friend, Carey Scott, has a new book out called UntangledUntangled unpacks the struggle we all have with feeling like we’re not good enough. Daily we are bombarded with reminders about our past, our mistakes, and that we just don’t measure up. And unfortunately, we’re listening.

For the next four weeks, we’re going to dig into four tangles that I’m guessing you’ll be able to identify with on some level. We’re going to be unpacking…

Shame – The feeling that who you are is bad and broken, keeping you from loving who God made you to be.

Fear – The worry that you might fail, be embarrassed, get hurt again, be judged, or be ill-equipped to do what God is asking.

Worthlessness – The belief that says you’re unlovable, not good enough, won’t measure up, and are insignificant.

Unforgiveness – The lie that encourages you to live an offended life with a victim mentality, and weaves its way into your ability to love and trust again.

Now, some of you might be asking, why in the world do I want to talk about all that? Summer’s suppose to be easy, not heavy and full of deep conversations and drama.

But what if part of your mid-year realization is that God wants to heal you of the lies that you’ve believed for so long? What if at this mid-way point of 2015 you began to understand, for maybe the first time, that His plan for you is restoration? That He wants you to live…untangled?

What if we began to believe God’s Word on this whole thing?

Here’s how you can prepare for this study:

1. Take the Tangle Quiz HERE. Carey has created a super simple 5 question quiz that will help you begin to identify what tangles you struggle with.  Then, based on your answers, she’ll send a follow-up video, resource and devotional. I took the quiz (it was so right) and the resources I got are incredible. As you read through your own results and resources, begin to ask God to speak to your heart about that tangle.

2. Grab a copy of Untangled: Let God Loosen the Knots of Insecurity in Your Life from Amazon, or wherever books are sold.

3. SUBSCRIBE. By entering your email address, (either to the right of your screen/laptop or at the bottom of this post/mobile), you’ll automatically get each weekly study dropped directly into your inbox.

It’s been incredible to see the response already to this study, from women everywhere who are ready for some honest conversations, ready for some healing and freedom.

I know I am. If you’re here, you must be too.

I’ll be praying for you this weekend. Praying that as you walk into the second half of 2015, you’ll be overwhelmed by His amazing love, and set free by the goodness and grace of His truth.

See you back here Tuesday.
